5 Things to Include on Every Birthday Invitation

A great invitation does more than announce a party. It gives guests everything they need to show up on time, dressed right, and ready to celebrate. Here's the short list.

1. The guest of honor and the occasion

Sounds obvious, but be specific: "Mia's 4th Birthday Party" tells guests more than "birthday party." If it's a themed party, mention it here.

2. Date and time (with a clear end time)

Parents especially appreciate knowing when to pick up. "Saturday, August 9 from 2 to 4 PM" is cleaner than "2 PM-ish."

3. Location — full address plus a note if it's tricky to find

If the venue has a parking situation, a gate code, or a back entrance, say so. Saves you a dozen texts on the day.

4. RSVP details

Phone number, email, or a form link — and a deadline. "RSVP by August 1" helps you plan headcount without chasing people down.

5. Any must-know details

Allergies you're accommodating, a dress code, whether siblings are welcome, what the birthday kid is into right now (so guests can bring a thoughtful gift). Keep it short — two or three lines max.
